The Church!
When I say “Church” what do you think of? I’m pretty sure you thought of a building, probably the church you attend or one you see often.
But I want to change your perspective. Maybe you have already figured out the direction I am going in and pictured something or someone different. Yes, I said someone and to be specific, I’m thinking of you. You are the church. That’s right, we don’t “GO” to church, we “ARE” the church.
All those friends and strangers you attend church with are The Church.
Your Family is The Church.
And you need to hear this: Your organization or business is The Church, disguised as an organization or business.
You, the leader, president or CEO are the senior pastor disguised as the leader, president or CEO.
We, as leaders of organizations or businesses, are responsible for the people God has entrusted to us. It is our responsibility to serve and love the people who have been entrusted to us, just as we would expect the church to support and serve the needs of the congregation, just as Christ loves the Church. We have a stewardship responsibility to all the people God has given us influence with.
Author Os Hillman said, “Consider that in the New Testament, of Jesus’ 132 public appearances, 122 were in the marketplace. Of the 52 parables Jesus told, 45 had a workplace context. Of 40 miracles recorded in the book of Acts, 39 occurred in the marketplace.”
God did not give our business to us, for us. God has entrusted us with our organization to us, for HIM!
About this Plan
Who really owns your business or organization? Are you using it for His purposes or for your purposes? What's more important, values or valuables? Finally, how can you surrender what God has placed in your hand to make the biggest impact for His purposes?
