ZUVA 10 REMAZUVA 11

Love Displayed In Our Obedience

These chapters speak of the love God has for us. True love always includes a choice. Life is about choices. The most significant decision a person has to make in their lifetime is, do they love God or not? This is important for their belief, and their life depends on this choice. Those who do not believe in God live their lives in the present. Death, according to them, is just a logical end.

Those who do believe in God have the choice of many gods the world offers. Depending on the chosen god, they follow the beliefs and principles of their religion. Deuteronomy is essential for those who want to have a relationship with the Maker rather than follow the religion Christianity.

Today's passage describes how life will look when we choose to have this relationship or not. This passage is only to be used for self-evaluation. Sometimes as a Christian with a deep connection with Christ, we may still seem to have parts of life as those who do not have this relationship. I have found myself in times like those, and I realized that the life I have is not only dependent on my choices but those around me. At times it may seem unfair and complicated, but God sure has a way of encouraging us in those trying times.

Our stressful life is not final unless we choose to make it last in our lives but continuing to disobey God. God offers the olive branch of repentance and renewal of the covenant even when we have lived a season of disobedience in our life. That is the Love Christ has for us. He loved us so much that He died for our sins, and today He dwells in us when we invite Him into our lives. He changes the stressful experience into a life of blessings.

The life we choose to live is not only on this earth but also extends into eternity. The experience of obedience will take us into the presence of God. Whereas the life of disobedience will be extended to a place where God is absent. So, the choice we make today not only decides our life on earth but continues to eternity.

Thought for the day: In which areas of my life am I still disobeying God?

Lord help me to obey you with all my heart soul and mind.
