Praying for People Around YouChikamu
Children
During Jesus’ time on earth, he embraced children as an active part of his ministry. He even instructed his followers to have a “child-like faith.” That’s why when we look at children, we can often see a hint of the type of faith that will lead us to heaven.
Yet, children also have a specific set of needs. For many of them—just like it was for many of us—growing up isn’t easy. There’s social pressure at school, a desire to be liked and to fit in, and also different struggles at home. In an age where media and culture have a loud voice into the life of a child, it’s no doubt that they need our prayers.
And on the flip side, there’s so much joy in being a kid—so much fun to be had. We can pray for both ends of this crazy spectrum today! Think of the kids in your neighborhood, and ask God to meet their needs and to show them his love today...
Heavenly Father, I pray for the children living in our apartment communities. Lord, please remove any obstacles to them coming to know you. I ask for your guidance in their lives. Use believers around them to encourage, teach, and share your truth with these young souls. May the adults in their lives be mindful of their actions, knowing that kids are watching and learning. I pray for godly examples in their lives that reflect your Son. Please provide them with the basic necessities of life—safety, food, and clothing. Above all, Father, I pray that every one of these children will feel loved. Jesus wants the children to come to him. Amen.
