Reverse Exodus
An angel disclosed in a dream to my mate
That we were in danger and must flee with haste
To Egypt, an exodus now in reverse
While Herod killed babies in jealous outburst.
It seemed as though we had just barely escaped.
While many boys perished our son’s fate was scraped
With branch of lamb’s blood painting door scarlet there
So death would pass over, this firstborn to spare.
I snap off a tender green hyssop branch while
We go on our journey to land of the Nile.
I hold it to thank God our lives are secured
I need not fear death when I carry the Word.

In this devotional written from the perspective of Jesus' mother, Mary vulnerably and honestly details the intimate moments of her experience as a mom. In each compelling scene, Mary treasures a small token to remember it by. Little does she know the divine significance each item will play in the ultimate purpose of her son’s role on earth.
