Running From The HeartChikamu
Unique
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. (Psalm 139:14)
“How do I see creation? God speaks through everything he has made...
Today Beautiful, large snowflakes fall slowly, softly, and peacefully to the ground. Each one unique…”
In that quiet and reflective place, Rebecca heard the gentle whisper of the Holy Spirit.
“I am also God’s workmanship. He created me; He loves me and approves of me. He loves me unconditionally and wholeheartedly and continually. God speaks through everything he has made.
I am His masterpiece, with a unique call!”
Rebecca responded to God’s call on her life. She understood and trusted that through the circumstances of her life, God was preparing and training her to live out her calling.
God’s work and calling on everyone’s life is unique and, because of this, it makes no sense to compare oneself with anyone else. No two snowflakes are alike, and neither are we. Rebecca wrote,
“I can never live someone else’s life, only mine.
God, in your calling on my life, help me accept the things I cannot change and give me courage to change the things I can.”
Although she often felt inadequate, Rebecca had a gift to speak in public. God graciously opened the door for invitations to share across the US and around the world. She spoke courageously about Jesus and she brought comfort and encouragement, especially challenging the youth to give their hearts and to run for Jesus.

Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. (Psalm 139:16)
God created each of us for a specific time and purpose and none of us know when the days ordained for us will end. Be open to the guidance of the Holy Spirit until your unique calling becomes the most important thing in your life. Your legacy will have an impact for those who come after you.
What is holding you back from finding and living for God’s unique call on your life?
Passing the Baton:
Be thankful for the unique gifts that God has given to you and, by His grace, use them with wisdom and courage.
Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for creating me, for making me unique and for loving me just as I am. Please lead me to find the special purpose you have for my life and help me to be content in living to please you. Amen.
