Take A Mission Trip To Your WorkplaceChikamu
MISSION TRIP: DAY THREE
How did Day Two of your MISSION TRIP go?
Were you able to show appreciation or give recognition to someone?
Done right, even a little gesture from you plus your prayers to God will make a big impact. Be sure to keep praying and keep your prayer partners posted each and every day!
Today, we’re going to re-engage with the person(s) you have been praying for in follow-up to yesterday’s conversation.
It sounds simple, but don’t trivialize it – stay focused that this is a spiritual effort which needs every bit of God’s help in your participation.
Stay close to God in prayer – all day long – so that He will show you the right time and place to reach out. And that He will give you the words to say that will most effectively reach those you with whom you speak.
As you pray, seek out God’s will on what the follow-up conversation might look like… there are so many possibilities:
Maybe you can start by asking for help or advice from that person in an area that builds on what you acknowledged in them yesterday.
Or, maybe you can offer your help to them in some way that is useful to them.
Otherwise, maybe you can simply share something with them – maybe information that could be useful to their job, or even something simple like a home-baked brownie!
Each person and every situation is different and requires its own approach – an approach that is uniquely you, not just some action steps from a prescribed formula.
So stay in prayer, and keep a sharp lookout for the opportunity to make your next move.
Remember the fruit of the Spirit in Galatians 5:22-23? Love, joy, peace, patience, gentleness and kindness are all qualities to keep at the forefront of your mind as you prepare for your next interaction.
Need additional inspiration?
Try casting yourself in the role of Jesus – willing to spend time, to listen, and to care for a fellow co-worker. Not to be holy or righteous – but just to be there, listening and caring.
Do these things and soon enough, you will find yourself serving as the very hands and feet of God, building His Kingdom through love and friendship, one person at a time!
Go forth to be NICER and BLESS others today!
PRAYER
Heavenly Father, I thank you for the example of a life well lived, as given by Jesus here on earth. Help me not to be rushed or feel pressured for results, but to just enjoy the interactions which you have given me with my fellow co-workers. May those interactions be to your glory. Amen
QUESTIONS & ACTIONS
As you proceed through this MISSION TRIP, don’t focus on results or any progress measurements. Like Jesus, just enjoy the times given you by God to spend with your co-workers, even if it’s only a few minutes at a time.
Today is the half-way point – stay strong in your prayers and sharing with your prayer partner(s).
