Fathers Establish Patterns.

In Philippians‬ ‭4:9‬ ‭KJV‬‬, Paul is writing to the church at Philippi and declares, “Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do.” Paul declares, to the Philippians, to model themselves after his example. This was one of the many churches that Paul was the Apostle over. Essentially, God gave Paul the mandate to “father” this church. God set Paul as the example, for the people to model themselves after him. As ‘Christians’ we are to follow Christ. Although we are “Christ followers”, God sets up Pastors, who are after His Heart, and sets them in place for His flock to follow.

Who’s feeding you? Who is your Father? Yes, God is our Father, He is our example and He gives us Pastors on Earth who can “Father” us and lead us as God leads them.

Paul states in, Philippians‬ ‭4:9‬ ‭KJV‬, “Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me.” These words indicate that Paul was a present and active father. Paul was a father who rightly divided the Word of God, and fed and taught his flock in wisdom. Through his life’s example Paul established the pattern for His flock to follow. Paul was close enough to the church at Philippi that they were able to glean from his instruction as he followed Christ. Who are you gleaning from? Who are you receiving instruction from? Who is your father?

Fathers establish the Blueprint. Fathers establish the generational pattern. They can either establish a pattern of blessings through their obedience or establish generational cycles and curses through their disobedience. Who are your mentors? Who is your Father?
