Reading the Bible in Historical Sequence Part 9

ZUVA 16 REMAZUVA 30

In Israel, Zechariah has a vision of the Holy Spirit empowering Israel to be a godly witness. He also has visions of God banishing the wicked to Babylon and judging all nations. God tells the Jews that their commemorating the fall of Jerusalem displeases Him. They should have a feast of gladness instead and always speak truth and judge with righteousness. Songs express passion for God and his house.

Note Zechariah 5:5–11: An ephah is a measure of weight but it came to be regarded as a symbol of the economy. In Shinar (Babylonia) the economy is corrupt but powerful.
