When Faith Fails: 10 Days Of Finding God In The Shadow Of DoubtChikamu
God is not the God of the gaps. He is the God of everything. What we know and what we don’t. It is all his design. Write down everything you know about science and include a question mark for everything you don’t. Then draw a massive circle around it all. That’s God. The universe is complicated, enigmatic, and full of mystery because he made it that way. And then he gave it to us.
All things are yours.
God is within, around, above, below, and beyond science. A scientific discovery doesn’t negate the existence of God any more than understanding how an iPhone works negates the existence of Tim Cook. . . .
This is so important. Science doesn’t explain away God. It just shows us how creative and beautiful he is.
But what if there seems to be a clear conflict between God’s Word and God’s world?
Look closer. Investigate more. Probe. Inquire. Wait. Study. Read. Ask questions. Be open to the idea that your analysis of Scripture (or science) is wrong. Don’t abandon your faith. Don’t give up what you love most for what you know least. Embrace the wonder of unknowing. Sit in the tension. Be okay with mystery.
Because, who knows, the mystery could someday be resolved, and you’ll discover, maybe there wasn’t a conflict after all.

About this Plan
Wrestling with faith and doubt can be profoundly lonely and isolating. Some suffer in silence while others abandon belief altogether, assuming doubt is incompatible with faith. Dominic Done believes this is both tragic and deeply mistaken. He uses Scripture and literature to argue that not only is questioning normal but it is often a path toward a rich and vibrant faith. Explore faith and doubt in this 10-day plan.
