Praying For The ImpossibleChikamu
DAY SEVEN: We Need the Holy Spirit
Our unbelief does not bring about God’s work in our lives. If we continue to be prayerless and faithless, we might as well lay in the open field of dry bones lamenting our powerlessness, lamenting our impossible situations, lamenting our culture, and carrying on with our powerless sermons!
Or we can start to hear the word of the Lord and start praying. We can turn to God and ask for the power of His Spirit to work in and through our lives. Jesus said, “If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!” (Luke 11:13).
The Lord has promised to give you His Holy Spirit—to empower you to be the person that God wants you to be. Without the Holy Spirit there will be no awakening.
We have already brought our natural best to the table—we have brought our physical strength, we have brought our natural intellects, and we have brought our best-laid and sincere plans. But none of these things have the power to change us into the image of Christ. None of these things have the power to change the world.
God performs the impossible for those willing to believe Him. When God puts a word in your heart to believe for the impossible, the Holy Spirit will confirm it to you. You are not alone in your walk of faith for the impossible.
Friend, we don’t need a new plan, and we don’t need a new superstar; we need the Holy Spirit.
