The Biblical Benefit Of HindsightChikamu
Sell our possessions? Really? On eBay? Gumtree? How many of us would really be prepared to do that? And yet Jesus is challenging us that our material possessions will not survive, will not bring us happiness, and that heavenly treasure is the only treasure worth having. In verse 31 Jesus says, ‘seek his kingdom’. But often we find ourselves seeking things of this world, as if we will find happiness in them, security, prestige or affirmation.
Does your heart first and foremost desire the Lord and his kingdom?
Pray: Dear God, change my heart so that I will seek you above all things. Please do not let me be tempted by the accumulation of material wealth for any reason. I ask it in Jesus’ name. Amen.

About this Plan
The irritating benefit of hindsight is that it is often easier to see why we should have listened to biblical wisdom when we suffer through trials and difficulties. The one thing I keep learning is that the wisdom was there all along; I just needed to look for it. It is one thing to have faith in your head. It is quite another to live out that faith in your heart, day by day.
