How To Survive THRIVE - Emotionally
Day 7: Peace
There are so many things in this world that bring anxiety and unrest to our hearts and many are driven by the desire to just find inner peace. There is tension in the fact that we try seek certainty/peace in the midst of a fallen world, and people [who are all caught in the grip of death and decay]; and this is a tension that we need to learn how to manage, it will not be resolved this side of eternity. Certainty cannot be found in creation, certainty can only be found in the Creator. Philippians 4:6 says “Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done.” …. THEN, you will experience God’s peace. If we want to experience God’s peace in our lives, then we need to bring our lives to Him. When we enter into daily relational communication with Him, expressing our worries, concerns and needs - and at the same time expressing gratitude for all He has done already - we begin to experience a peace - a peace of His presence in the presence of our troubles.
A child unable to sleep due to the fear of the dark will feel an instant peace with the presence of his parent in the room, bringing comfort to his heart even if his mind is still uncertain of what lies in the dark. It is no different with God. He is our Fortress, our Protector, our Provider, our Healer, our Everything - knowing our position in Him brings comfort to all who find themselves in spaces of distress.
Let the peace of God’s presence exceed every trial or hurdle you face as you daily choose to dwell in His presence, engaging in conversation with Him.
