Waiting for the Redemption of the Lord
A Song of Ascents.
1Out #Ruth 2:4of the depths I have cried to You, O Lord;
2Lord, hear my voice!
Let Your ears be attentive
To the voice of my supplications.
3#Lam. 3:55If You, Lord, should mark iniquities,
O Lord, who could #(Ps. 143:2)stand?
4But there is #(Nah. 1:6; Mal. 3:2); Rev. 6:17forgiveness with You,
That #(Ex. 34:7; Neh. 9:17; Ps. 86:5; Is. 55:7; Dan. 9:9)You may be feared.
5#(1 Kin. 8:39, 40; Jer. 33:8, 9)I wait for the Lord, my soul waits,
And #(Ps. 27:14)in His word I do hope.
6#Ps. 119:81My soul waits for the Lord
More than those who watch for the morning—
Yes, more than those who watch for the morning.
7#Ps. 119:147O Israel, hope in the Lord;
For #Ps. 131:3with the Lord there is mercy,
And with Him is abundant redemption.
8And #(Ps. 86:5, 15; Is. 55:7)He shall redeem Israel
From all his iniquities.
