Psalms 11

Faith in the Lord’s Righteousness
To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David.
1In #Ps. 56:11the Lord I put my trust;
How can you say to my soul,
“Flee as a bird to your mountain”?
2For look! #Ps. 64:3, 4The wicked bend their bow,
They make ready their arrow on the string,
That they may shoot secretly at the upright in heart.
3#Ps. 82:5; 87:1; 119:152If the foundations are destroyed,
What can the righteous do?
4The Lord is in His holy temple,
The Lord’s #Ps. 2:4; (Is. 66:1); Matt. 5:34; 23:22; (Acts 7:49); Rev. 4:2throne is in heaven;
#(Ps. 33:18; 34:15, 16)His eyes behold,
His eyelids test the sons of men.
5The Lord #Gen. 22:1; (James 1:12)tests the righteous,
But the wicked and the one who loves violence His soul hates.
6Upon the wicked He will rain coals;
Fire and brimstone and a burning wind
#1 Sam. 1:4; Ps. 75:8; Ezek. 38:22Shall be the portion of their cup.
7For the Lord is righteous,
He #Ps. 33:5; 45:7loves righteousness;
His countenance beholds the upright.
