DAY 1 OF 21

Recovery Day 1

The creative force behind any great thing you come across in music, art, or architecture is passion. Passion creates greatness. No one can live a great life without passion. It is passion that mobilizes armies to battle and drives scientists to discover new things. It is passion that makes ordinary people do extraordinary things. Passion energizes life. You were created to live a passionate life. Choosing to live a passionless life is a decision to merely exist. Passion is what makes ordinary people walk in the supernatural. I would rather hang out with passionate people than with passionless people. And guess what? Passion is not a temperament. You can be passionate regardless of your temperament.

How often does the statement, “I am tired” show up in your conversations? John10:10, reveals God’s heart, “…My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.” God‘s heart is to give you a life filled with vitality, energy and with enthusiasm. 1Cor.1:9  “God, who got you started in this spiritual adventure, shares with us the life of his Son and our Master Jesus. He will never give up on you. Never forget that“ (MSG). God did not get us started in spiritual boredom, or spiritual monotony, and definitely not spiritual routine. To be a follower of Jesus Christ is to be on a spiritual adventure.

While God’s plan is to give you a rich and satisfying life, the enemy also has a plan to kill, to steal and to destroy your passion – your creative power, your zeal. In order to rob you of something, the enemy first attacks your passion for that thing. If the enemy can succeed in draining your passion in any area, he can succeed in robbing you in that area. Marriage for example, the reason there are so many broken marriages today is because people have lost their passion. If the enemy is going to be successful at draining the life out of your job or making your walk with Jesus monotonous and boring, he will first attack your passion.

Thought: Can you describe your walk with God as an adventure?

Prayer: Lord Jesus, I pray that the reality of my walk with you will be a spiritual adventure. Reignite my passion for God and the things of God, in Jesus Name. Amen!

Dan 2
