Kingdom Do’s & Don’ts—Disciple Makers Series #7Sample
When To Just Be Quiet
Do not give God’s treasures to people who do not want them.
Be careful when you share God’s truth. Some people will treat God’s truth like it is worthless—and they will attack you. They not only reject the truth, but they turn their anger to the one who spoke it to them.
Jesus was careful how He spoke truth. Many times people wanted things—and He did not do it. He knew their hearts. Their intention was never to let the truth change their lives. More truth, more miracles, more good things—they are never enough for these people. So leave them alone. Their only hope is that someday, they will actually NEED God to do something. God will put them in that situation because He wants them to come to Him. So when you find these people—just wait… and pray. The day will come, and then release the truth to them.
Time to Pray
Father, it is easy to get angry at people who respond so badly to Your words—especially when they treat them as garbage, or treat us badly because we love Your words. Give me the wisdom to just move away. You have told us that this will happen—and it does. You have told us that we will be treated poorly at times because we love You and Your words—and we are. Help us to have Your heart for these people even when they do this. Give us a heart that will pray for them, seek Your best for them and be prepared to share Your words to them when they really need You. In Jesus’ name Amen.

About this Plan
Matthew writes to God’s people and walks them on a journey that will take them from where they are to be Disciple Makers. This is the seventh of 27 devotional plans walking us through the book of Matthew. Jesus talks about the “do’s and don’ts” of His kingdom. How to sum up the Kingdom: see others like God sees them, and treat them like God treats them.
