The Songs Of ChristmasSample
Inspired by "Do You Hear What I Hear?" by Nichole Nordeman
Said the little lamb to the shepherd boy
Do you hear what I hear?
Ringing through the sky shepherd boy
Do you hear what I hear?
A song, a song
High above the trees
With a voice as big as the sea
With a voice as big as the sea
Two thousand years ago, the sound of a baby’s cry broke the stillness of the silent night, announcing the start of something miraculous. The wind carried His scent. The mountains echoed His cry. The skies reverberated His song. The stars reflected His glory. The earth shook as the tiny baby trembled in the hay in oft-overlooked Bethlehem.
Incredibly, the baby born in Bethlehem is the same artist who created the heavens and the earth. Centuries later, creation still sings of its Creator.
How much more does God revel in the worship of His human creation? The Bible says God inhabits the praises of His people. When we worship Him, He draws near. And when we reflect on the meaning of the manger, the cross and the tomb, we can’t help but give Him glory and honor with our voices and with our lives.
Said the king to the people everywhere
Listen to what I say
Pray for peace people everywhere
Listen to what I say
The child, the child
Sleeping in the night
He will bring us goodness and light
He will bring us goodness and light
Goodness and light is what He brings yesterday, today and forever. Just a small glimpse of His mercy, and we can’t help but worship Him. The more we taste of Christ, the more we adore Him. Every day is an opportunity to praise Him, and every breath is a chance to express our gratitude.
Sometimes His voice is loud and thunderous, but sometimes it’s unsuspecting and still. This Christmas, listen for His voice. Give Him space to speak, and ask Him for the courage to follow His lead. Do you hear what I hear? It’s in the wind. It’s in the falling snow. It’s in our hearts. Christmas is calling. Hear Nichole Nordeman's “Do You Hear What I Hear?" here.
