The Pharisees were promoting the precepts of man over the will of God. They came to Jesus, trying to get Him to endorse their practice of divorcing their wives for any reason. Jesus cleared up the matter once and for all by saying that divorce was not God's idea nor His plan for His people. Marriage is between a man and a woman: "From the beginning of the creation, God made them male and female." The two people become one flesh: "And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder." Jesus said that Moses gave them the bill of divorcement because of their hardness of heart, not because it was God's plan. If a divorce is in your past, there is nothing you can do to change that, so don't worry; God will always love you! Determine in your heart to follow God's plan for your life going forward. God's way is always the best way!
