12 Days of Christmas

DAY 11 OF 13

Ten Lords a-Leaping: The Gift of the Lordship of Christ

“They will wage war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will conquer them, for he is LORD OF LORDS and King of kings! Those who are with him will also conquer them, and they are called 'chosen ones' and 'faithful ones.'” – Revelation 17:14 (TPT)

On the tenth day of Christmas,
my true love gave to me
Ten lords a-leaping,
Nine ladies dancing,
Eight maids a-milking,
Seven swans a-swimming,
Six geese a-laying,
Five golden rings,
Four calling birds,
Three French hens,
Two turtle doves,
And a partridge in a pear tree.

This day serves as a reminder of the incredible privilege we have as believers under the new covenant. We are not just servants of God, but we are invited into His family. The One who is the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords has called us His own!

In Revelation 17:14, we see the powerful imagery of Jesus as the ultimate authority over all rulers, powers, and dominions. The Lamb, who is Jesus Christ, will triumph over all who oppose Him. In fact, the earthly lords who think they hold power and authority will have no choice but to bow before Him, because He is supreme over all. He is the King and the Lord, the one to whom every knee will bow.

As followers of Christ, this truth is a powerful source of hope and strength. The lords of this world—whether they are rulers, powers, or even personal challenges—may wage war against the believer, but we are on the side of the victorious King. And in Him, we are more than conquerors (Romans 8:37). We are "chosen" and "faithful," called into a divine victory that transcends every earthly conflict. Before our King, even the greatest lords must leap for joy and submit to His authority.

This day reminds us that as members of God's Kingdom, we are not bound by the limitations of this world. Our identity is tied to the Lord of all creation, the One who reigns in glory. When we align ourselves with His will, we stand on the winning side, for He has already won the ultimate victory.

Over to You:

  • Are you living with the confidence of being a member of the Kingdom of the King of Kings?
  • No matter the opposition you face, remember that your Savior reigns supreme.
  • Embrace your identity as a "chosen one" and a "faithful one," and let this truth empower you to stand firm in faith.

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, You are the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords, and I am honored to be called Your own. Thank You for the privilege of being part of Your Kingdom, a Kingdom that will never be shaken. Help me to live with the confidence of knowing that You reign supreme over all lords, authorities, and challenges in this world. Empower me to stand firm in my identity as a chosen and faithful one, and to walk in the victory You have already won. In Your mighty name, Amen.
