It Is God's DecisionSample

It Is God's Decision

DAY 1 OF 3

It is God's decision to grant me victory.

And he said, ‘O Lord, God of our fathers, are You not God in heaven, and do You not rule over all the kingdoms of the nations? And in Your hand is power and might, so that no one is able to withstand You’" (2 Chronicles 20:6).

Honestly, Jehoshaphat didn't see this war coming. His heart was filled with fear. And just like us, he did something very wise: he sought God.

When I read these lines from Jehoshaphat's prayer, I can feel a fire in my heart. Jehoshaphat didn't talk to God about how strong the enemy was, nor about the good things they had done as God's people. And you might say, "Maybe Jehoshaphat was humble." That might be! But the truth is, it's not until we feel we can do nothing that we understand that God can do everything.

"You are the one who rules over the nations," Jehoshaphat says. You have the power and the sovereignty to do whatever You want. I know that one word from You could change everything. It's Your decision.

The only thing that determined the future of a nation was the decision of the Lord our God, and Jehoshaphat knew it.

"For we have no power against this great multitude that is coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are upon You" (v.12).

We can think that we are victims of circumstances, or we can understand that God has the power to deliver us.

It's not a war; it's not the army that will determine your failure or your victory... God will determine your victory. "For the battle is not yours, but God's" (v.15).

Only God knows how to defend you and how to help you. In Him is our trust. We know that if His word is for us, we can be sure that He is faithful and that His promise will prevail.

He dominates everything, and no one can stand against Him. If His decision is to protect you, then have no fear. And instead, praise God for the victory He gives you (v.27).
