Pray for America

DAY 2 OF 15

Pray for Churches

There are some communities throughout America where options for a church community are sparse and others areas where a dozen options exist along the length of a single street. New Testament writers addressed "the church in ___" or spoke of several regional churches. Jesus is indeed the head of the universal church, and each Christian member of that body is connected.

Take a moment to think of a church fellowship you know or are a part of. Pray that we may be one within that member of the universal body and enact Jesus' words found in Matthew 5:14-16. Then, pray that they may unite more profoundly and frequently with other fellowships around us to be "like a city on a hilltop" in their community. And don't forget to pray for your pastors and those who give their lives to the local church and community ministry!

We are surrounded by a great cloud of witnesses from all of church history. Brothers and sisters in Christ who brought kindness to cruel societies, illuminated hope to the oppressed, championed life against cultures of death and preached one God to those who worshipped many gods. Brothers and sisters in Christ who knew the church was not just an activity to participate in but a mission to take hold of.

As we continue praying for America, let's never forget to pray for churches across the nation, and especially for unity in the body of Christ. A united church of love, grace, and truth is the antidote for this country's—and even this world's—divisions.

About this Plan

Pray for America

As Christians, we must unite and dedicate time to praying for our country and for our leaders. America was built on prayer and we know that God will hear our prayers. Please join CBN and Christians across the country in 15 days of prayer for America.
