DAY 7 OF 9

Insufficient answers

As we struggle with answers to life’s challenges, God the Father provides an answer: God, after He spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions and in many ways, in these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom He also made the world. (Hebrews 1:1-2). What is God’s message to us? What does He want to say to us? On the Mountain of Transfiguration, the Voice of God came from heaven saying: This is my beloved Son; listen to Him.

We overestimate ourselves. In Job 8:9, we read: For we were born but yesterday and know nothing. Our days on earth are as fleeting as a shadow. We are a small piece of dust on the scales of eternity, a vapour, a shadow, and we believe that with our very limited capacity, we can work out everything. In Ecclesiastes 3:11, we read: He made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men, yet they cannot fathom the work that God has done from beginning to end.

In Job 42:5, Job says: Now I have seen God. Interestingly, when God started to speak to Job in chapters 38-41, He didn’t give Job any answers. He simply asked Job some questions. What was Job’s reaction to that? My ears had heard of You, but now my eyes have seen You. Therefore, I retract my words, and I repent in dust and ashes (Job 42:5-6).

Jesus came from eternity and was sent by God; therefore, He can be trusted. He cleanses us from sin. He upholds everything and holds everything together. He created everything. He represents the Father. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal Christ to you.
