DAY 6 OF 6

The Best is Yet to Come

Any study of visions from God typically includes the vision given to the apostle John that, eventually, became the book of Revelation. Within this “revelation” from God are many visions of comfort, exhortation, rebuke, wrath, and eternity.

Today’s passage is part of a longer description of what the new heavens and earth look like when Jesus returns. The Book of Revelation describes the beauty and splendor of Heaven and the New Earth with its pearly gates and streets of gold. However, some believe the use of gold for streets and pearl for gates is also a way to demonstrate just how little these things will matter when we get to Heaven. When gold is used for common paving material, the majesty of Heaven is truly indescribable! 1 Corinthians 2:9 says, Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.

As we conclude this plan, spend a few minutes reflecting on what God is saying to you. Perhaps you are still waiting to receive the vision God has for you. Maybe He has spoken and you are praying about what to do next. No matter where you are on this journey, remember God has planned great things for you—both now and in the life to come!

As you engage with God’s Word:

● What is God saying to me?

● What does it mean to me?

● How can I apply what God is teaching me?

● How can I be specific in prayer today?

After you reflect on these questions, bring everything to God in prayer. To discover more faith-building resources like this, I want to personally invite you to sign up for my weekly devotional email today!

About this Plan

Clear Sight

You’ve probably heard the saying, “a picture is worth a thousand words.” God designed our minds to work this way and He often uses different types of imagery to communicate to us! In this six-day plan, we’ll look at examples from Scripture of God speaking to His people in visions to discover how we can hear God’s voice and messages in our own lives.
