My morning coffee
The greatest tech wisdom I’ve received in my career is, ‘turn it off and on again’. Alas when life is not ‘performing as expected’ we don’t have this reboot button.
… or do we?
2 Corinthians 4:7a speaks about treasures in fragile jars of clay. ‘We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure.’ We can invite this renewing power of God’s grace, spirit and mercy into the moments of our day, allowing Him to renew us, and fill us. For me, finding time for renewal for my soul (and my body) comes with my morning coffee and Douglas McKelvey’s A Liturgy for the Ritual of Morning Coffee, from Every Moment Holy Volume 1.
‘From the discords of yesterday resurrect my peace.
From the discouragement of yesterday resurrect my hope.’
Intentionally creating a space to release the burdens, frustrations, disappointments, heartache from the day before. Inviting God into today and helping me ‘reboot’ for the day ahead.
‘From the doubts of yesterday resurrect faith.
From the wounds of yesterday resurrect love.’
How can you create space for God to renew you today? How can you allow His Spirit to equip you for the day ahead?

About this Plan
While these exact words are not found in the Bible, the general message is. Seasons come and go, uncomfortable situations don’t last forever, but be encouraged by the words of Paul in 2 Corinthians 4:17 that say our present troubles are small and won’t last very long! Take heart, read these devotionals and be encouraged that God will be with you always!
