Connecting With God: A 5 Day Devotional

DAY 1 OF 5

The greatest connection you’ll ever have is the one you have with God. Everything that we are, everything that we do, begins with Him. Developing an authentic relationship with God is a journey, and it can also be an imperfect one. You won’t always have it altogether, and you won’t always get it right, but you have to choose to connect with God, believing that He is committed to you each and every day.

Yet I still dare to hope when I remember this: The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness. His mercies begin afresh each morning.

Lamentations 3: 21-23

The more I became aware of God's grace, love, and faithfulness towards me, the more I felt compelled to connect with Him. No matter how broken and imperfect I believed I was. Over time, I learnt that God always invited me to engage with Him, no matter where I found myself. Even during long periods when I chose to distance myself from Him due to feeling shame, He still longed to connect with me.

I want you to know that no matter where you’re at in life or what you've done, He still longs to connect with you. That’s how an authentic relationship with God is created. When you are willing to bring your true self to Him, He can reveal His true self to you. God, in His purest nature, is good, full of compassion and grace.

There are different ways to connect with God, such as prayer, the Bible, and worship.

Over the next five days, I invite you to embark on the greatest journey of your life - the journey of getting to know God authentically, beyond tradition and religion.
