Daily Bible Reading—July 2024, God’s Guiding Word: Mercy and ForgivenessSample
July 10
Introduction
Jeremiah 30:12–24: Because the people of Israel and Judah disobeyed the LORD, the promises made to their ancestors were endangered. But the LORD will renew these promises in the future, promises that include reclaiming the land and having many children. Songs of praise and shouts of joy will mark this time of restoration.
Today’s Key Verse: Jeremiah 30:18a
The LORD says, “I will restore my people to their land and have mercy on every family.”
Reflect
How is the people’s punishment described (verses 12–15)? Why were they punished? According to verses 16–22, how is the time of restoration described? Reread verses 23–24. What do you think it is that the people “will understand clearly”?
Pray
Merciful God, because of your bountiful blessings, I sing praises to you and shout for joy. May all I do and say this day bring honor and glory to your holy name. Amen.
Tomorrow’s Reading
Jeremiah 31:1–14: The prophet Jeremiah foretells of a time when all the tribes of Israel will be restored as one nation.
