Faithful Waiting

DAY 2 OF 7

Is God keeping you at arm’s length?

"Am I the only one to whom God does NOT SPEAK?"

Tears ran down the cheeks of this woman who had come to the service on Sunday after the first "A Miracle Every Day" Live Event.

She continued, "I stood in the middle of all that was happening and was able to witness for myself how the Holy Spirit touched the people around me. But God gave me a wide berth..."

Are you familiar with such times?

Habakkuk knew it too. And he was a prophet! A prophet should really hear from God!

But even he got caught in this silence. The silence that tempts us to believe that God is giving us a wide berth: "How long, Lord, must I call for help, but you do not listen? Or cry out to you, ‘Violence!’ but you do not save?" (Habakkuk 1:2 NIV)

Let's face it, no matter who I ask, very few people answer, "I'm totally feeling God right now."

It's true, on that first "A Miracle Every Day" occasion, I too felt the Holy Spirit more strongly than I have in a long time. But I often do not wake up in the morning and think, “Ta Da! I immediately feel God's presence.”

No, I do not feel Him immediately, but I believe immediately! I do not feel Him immediately, but I trust immediately! God is more than a feeling, so don't wait for a feeling to believe in God!

The book of Habakkuk begins (verse 2) with "you do not listen." And maybe this is the point in your life where you are right now.

Do you know how the book of Habakkuk ends?

“Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior." (Habakkuk 3:18 NIV)

Habakkuk doesn't wait for a feeling. He makes a decision!

This is not where the story ends! For God gives Him what he really needs. “The Sovereign Lord is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to tread on the heights. For the director of music. On my stringed instruments.” (Habakkuk 3:19 NIV)

Likewise, God will give YOU what you need—and that is far more than a feeling!

Rejoice TODAY in your mighty God!

You are a miracle!

About this Plan

Faithful Waiting

This week we want to deal with the Old Testament prophet Habakkuk. Not that much is known about him, but one thing is certain: He was faithful in the waiting times. Are you in a time of waiting? Perhaps you too need some encouragement from Habbakuk!
