The Recall of Heaven

DAY 3 OF 5

RESTORATION

If God's assignment seems distant or unattainable, perhaps life circumstances have clouded His purpose for you. But take heart, just as a company recalls its products to restore them to their intended function, we, too, can return to God for restoration. This process is not a punishment but a loving act of God to bring us back to our true purpose.

Prayer is the workshop where your life is restored, and your purpose is realigned with God's purposes. In John 21, we see a similar story. The disciples, who had been trained, loved, and provided for by Jesus, were ready to continue their calling. However, life happened to them. After Jesus’ crucifixion, they were confused and afraid, unsure of their purpose.

Like the disciples, we can allow life situations to distort or deviate us from God’s call. It could be a relationship, a job, a friendship, or anything else that takes our time and focus. These things can cause us to need restoration. Life leaves its mark, but Jesus is here today, just as He was on the shore, in John 21.

John 21:2-3 Several of the disciples were there—Simon Peter, Thomas (nicknamed the Twin), Nathanael from Cana in Galilee, the sons of Zebedee, and two other disciples. Simon Peter said, “I’m going fishing.” “We’ll come, too,” they all said. So they went out in the boat, but they caught nothing all night.

Despite spending three years with Jesus, the disciples were uncertain of their calling. If you find yourself in a similar place of uncertainty today, know that you are not alone. All God needs from you is a willing heart and your obedience. A willing heart without obedience is not useful, but with God, even the most uncertain path can lead to His purpose.

Are you trying to do things in your own strength? Are you building businesses, entering relationships, and surrounding yourself with people Jesus never called you to? Proverbs 16:25 says, "There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death." This death is spiritual.

It's time to return to God's workshop for restoration, to realign your life with His purpose. Remember, you are not just called to meet in a building but to be an agent of change, to impact everyone you come in contact with. Embrace the call, and let God restore you to your original purpose. In His hands, you will find the guidance and direction you need.
