Busyness

Return unto thy rest, O my soul; for the Lord hath dealt bountifully with thee.

For most of us, life is busy, perhaps too busy for our own good. We rush from place to place, with scarcely a moment to spare, checking smart phones along the way. Meanwhile, we’re constantly bombarded by a steady stream of media, much of it disturbing. No wonder we’re stressed!

Has the busy pace of twenty-first-century life robbed you of the peace and serenity that could otherwise be yours through Jesus Christ? If so, it’s time to slow down, do less, and appreciate life a little more.

As you consider your priorities, remember that time with God is paramount. You owe it to yourself to spend time each day with your Creator, seeking His guidance and studying His Word. Those quiet moments of prayer and meditation are invaluable. When you let God help you organize your day, you’ll find that He’ll give you the time and the tools to do the most important tasks on your to-do list. And what about all those less important things on your list? Perhaps they’re best left undone.

Strength is found not in busyness and noise but in quietness.
