4 Ways to Be Sure if You Are Really Saved - - Not Everyone Is!Sample
1. Do Good
The first sign that your salvation is the real deal, is that you do good works that help others.
It may seem obvious that Christians would be known for the good deeds they do, but many times, we just forget. Doing good works is a very key element of everyone who is saved.
Let’s go back and see what the Bible says and then check how important these are. Check what Jesus says about how we are to bear much “fruit”:
“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. …This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.” – John 15:5,8
Jesus’ brother James reinforces what Jesus says:
“In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead. But someone will say, ‘You have faith; I have deeds.’ Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds.” –James 2:17-18
So what are Jesus and James are talking about?
In its simplest form, it’s about doing good to help others with tangible actions that brings glory to God. Check how James clarifies this:
“Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to them, ‘Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,’ but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.” – James 2:14-17
Good deeds help others. These good works are a direct result of being saved. You are not saved by doing good works, but they are a clear sign that your salvation is the real deal.
Not sure about that? Then check what Jesus says about those who do not bear any fruit:
“Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.” – Matthew 7:15-20
”’For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’ They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’ He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’” – Matthew 25:42-45
Are you truly saved? Then you will have the desire to do good deeds to help others.
Are there good deeds in your life? What are they?
