Sonship - Understanding the Believer's Identity in Christ

DAY 4 OF 4

The Attributes of Sonship

'So it is with us. When we were juveniles we were enslaved under the hostile spirits of the world. But when the time of fulfillment had come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law. Yet all of this was so that he would redeem and set free those held hostage to the law so that we would receive our freedom and a full legal adoption as his children. And so that we would know that we are his true children, God released the Spirit of Sonship into our hearts—moving us to cry out intimately, “My Father! My true Father!”Now we’re no longer living like slaves under the law, but we enjoy being God’s very own sons and daughters! And because we’re his, we can access everything our Father has —for we are heirs because of what God has done!'-Galatians 4:3-7 TPT

To fully live out Sonship, a Son of God must see himself the way God sees him. To see yourself the way God sees you, you must continually declare His words over yourself and over situations (Philemon 1:6). All things have been given to Sons in Christ Jesus. To manifest them, speak them forth with conviction. Say it until you see it.

Beware of the tricks of the devil to downplay your Sonship by telling you a distorted version of the truth. For example, on days you experience disappointments; thoughts like are you sure you really have access to everything God has access to? Or, are you sure all your sins are forgiven?

In the same way you did not earn Sonship by your actions, you do not keep Sonship by your actions. You don't grow into Sonship; you believe into Sonship. Sonship is a gift that is received by faith. The mistakes of a Son cannot cancel the state of Sonship (Romans 8: 33-35). However, it can limit the manifestation of God's power in the Son's life.

Sonship does not speak of spiritual maturity. It speaks of your position and access to your inheritance in Christ. Your character may be childish, but your position remains Sonship. Sonship is like God bringing you to a buffet. How much you take is up to you. He has given you all things, the only limiting factor is you.

Prayer:

Thank you, Father, for showing me who I am in Christ. From this day onward, I choose to come into everything that you have made available for me.

Declarations:

With the knowledge and understanding you now have, boldly make these declarations with confidence:

I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus

I am the redeemed of the Lord

I am the beloved of Abba

All my sins are forgiven

I am passionately loved by God

I am powerfully helped by God

I am kept and protected by God

I enjoy angelic assistance

I am irrevocably blessed

I am eternally forgiven

I am the healed of the Lord

I enjoy divine health

I have the favour and the wisdom of God

I am fruitful, I flourish, excel, and prosper in all that I do

I have the multiplier's anointing

Nothing is against me

Nothing dies in my hands

The supernatural is natural to me

I am never stranded

All things are working together for my good

God loves me more than the devil hates me

Grace is working for me.

Dan 3

About this Plan

Sonship - Understanding the Believer's Identity in Christ

The position of a believer is that of Sonship. As Sons of God, we have been given access to everything in heaven and on earth. Every believer has been accepted into the beloved. This 4-day plan explains the sonship that we have received through the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
