DAY 2 OF 7

Day 2: Unlocking the Secret:
Welcome to day 2! Today, I’m going to give you the secret to success . . .

The secret to success is that there are no secrets to success!

If you’re wondering why there are no secrets to success, it’s because, as my mother used to say, “Someone let the cat out of the bag!” This so-called mystery has been in print for many centuries; it’s the #1 best-selling book of all time. It’s not a new catchphrase, multi-level marketing program, or financial freedom webinar. No, the formula for success is found in the Old Testament of your Bible, and it reads like this:

"This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success." — Joshua 1:8 (NKJV)

There you go. The “secret” of good success is revealed! Let's look at a few key components of this verse to see how they apply to everyday life.

Start with the Word. As basic as it may seem, the journey to true success begins with “The Book of the Law,” which we know as the Bible. John 1:1 says, “In the beginning was the Word...” While we know this phrase reflects a timeframe—the genesis of everything—it can also connote the start of a particular event. For example, salvation for your soul begins by hearing God’s plan of redemption.

Healing for your body starts with knowing God’s promises for life and health. In the same manner, living a life of abundance commences with the Word.

Have people become wealthy without acknowledging the Word of God? Of course, they have. But you must remember that wealth does not necessarily equate to success. The question is, “Do you want to only make money, or do you want to enjoy real success?” If the latter is your goal, then you must start with the Word of God.

Talk to Yourself. Notice where Joshua says the Word must stay—in your mouth! It’s one thing to have the Word in your heart, but changing the way you speak is an entirely different practice. And Joshua reveals how to make that happen—by meditating.

The power to make your way prosperous and secure success is found in the words which proceed out of your mouth. When you continually speak the Word of God, you are rehearsing it over and over and over. Much like a symphony orchestra, rehearsal is the key to a brilliant performance. When you rehearse speaking God’s Word, then you will be ready for the real test.

The power to make your way prosperous and secure success is found in the words which proceed out of your mouth.

Be a Doer. Continually speaking the Word to yourself is a great practice, but it's only half of the formula to success. You must begin doing what you’ve been speaking. When you do, good things are on the way! James 2:18 says it this way: “But someone will say, ‘You have faith, and I have works.’ Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.”

The formula is simple. If you begin with the Word, continually speak the Word, and become a doer of the Word, prosperity and success will follow.

Will you follow the formula?
