Dream Devo - SEU Conference

DAY 3 OF 5

God’s dreams are often greater than anything we could imagine or expect and are usually life-changing. A God-size dream requires trust in the God that dreamt it. God’s plans and dreams can seem intimidating and impossible for us to carry out, but what God desires of us is to trust him amid our obedience and yearning for His dream.

In Genesis 15, God shares with Abram His dream for the future of his heritage as a father of many nations. At first, when God told Abram that he would be a father of many nations, Abram found it hard to believe. Abram was an old man and the chances of having a child were so low that it seemed impossible, yet Abram knew that he served the God of the impossible and trusted in God’s dream. Abram’s faith was considered righteous and he was blessed greatly for it. Because of the covenant that God made with Abram, all the nations of the world were blessed through him, and Jesus Christ himself would come from this heritage.

Abram did not see the fullness of God’s dream come to pass in his lifetime, but he trusted God anyway and had faith in Him. Although God wants to bring us into His dream for the world, we might not always see the full picture or see all the results in our lives. Yet, when God invites us into his plans and vision, like Abram, we should trust in God and have faith in His plan, even when it seems impossible. Our faith in and obedience to God’s dream results in many others being blessed.

Self Reflection:

  1. What does trusting in God’s dream look like?
  2. What is something in my life that holds me back from fully trusting in God’s dream for me?

About this Plan

Dream Devo - SEU Conference

God has always had a dream. Whether you call it a vision, a plan, or a purpose, God’s always been dreaming. God’s desire is that all of creation would experience and know the love of Christ. He has been relentless in His pursuit that we would experience life to the full.
