Nothing Is Wasted

A conclusion

I'm so thankful that you've taken this journey with me, exploring all these ways in which we can go chasing after life. It can be hard to take an honest look at our own life's path. I know I have regrets… so many decisions I'd make differently if I could just do them again. But God has taught me that nothing goes to waste.

Romans 8:28 says…

And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God, and are called according to His purpose for them.

So even the worst parts of my life—I know that they can be redeemed, and they are being redeemed! And God takes this garbage—the junk of our life—and He turns it into a window through which others can see the love of Jesus. He wants to regain possession of your life, to guard you, and to keep you on His path of light and life. God will use every part of your path for His glory. Imagine that!

And He doesn't want you to waste your life on endless regret. So put it behind you. Let Him do that for you. I refuse to get stuck in that trap because I know God has a better plan. I've been praying…many of us have been praying for you…that today, you will also refuse to stay where you are. After all, God is the one who's calling you.

Jeremiah 29:11 says…

“I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for your good, not for disaster, but to give you hope and a future.”

The day I repented of my destructive path and gave Jesus my life, I made this pledge to Him: God, I will tell everyone what you've done. And, in the most amazing way, He replied! And He said, Yes you will, Andrew! And now…. that's all I do, all over the world! I tell my story about how God rescued me, and how He set me on a new path. Not perfect, but changed, and with peace, and with a purpose.

Don't think that you have to wait to beautify your life—to look perfect—before sharing the Good News of Jesus with the people in your life. That's not what people are looking for anyway. No one wants to be shown a false standard that we can't even keep for ourself. What we want to offer is that they would receive God's saving grace, so that they can begin to follow Him and grow to be more and more like Him. That's what we experienced. And that's the path that we're on. There's real peace in that.

You can be the one to warn other men. Young men especially need to hear, Don't go down the same path that I did! Because, you know where that's gonna lead them, right? You can warn them. You can be the one to lead people, instead, to the path of life—Jesus.

Psalm 107 has been a great guide for us. And it concludes by saying that God is the One who…

…turns deserts into pools of water, the dry land into springs of water. He brings the hungry to settle there and to build their cities… How he blesses them.

That's God's promise for you. And you can share that promise! Sharing Jesus can be as simple as sending a friend one of these Gospel video links that you think they might relate to. And if you feel like your eyes have been opened this week, I want to pray with you…

God, thank You for lifting us out of the paths that lead to death and setting us on this path of life. Lord, we know it's not an easy life, but we're fully alive when we're walking with You. So, thank You! Thank You for the help that You will give, Holy Spirit, to my friend—to hold on to Your promise of hope. You walk with us through these shadows. Lord, You strengthen us, give us peace, make us whole. You bring us great joy that cuts through all of the pain and the sorrow. So we say thank You, Jesus. Thank You that You became human, and You suffered to save us—to bring us close to Yourself. And we say ‘yes’ to Your offer of salvation. We say ‘yes’ to Your path of new life. And we trust You, and we love You. And we pray all of these things in Jesus’ name. Amen.
