Small Matters: Becoming Faithful With LittleSample
Dream Big, Execute Small
Nothing can be as frustrating as having big dreams that look like Mount Everest and dwarf you in size and capacity. Instead of feeling inspired at the prospect of achieving these big dreams, you feel overwhelmed that you don't even know where to start. At times, the disparity and tension between the dream and your reality can become so unbearable that you give up along the way. It seems too hard.
So, what do we need to do to avoid becoming a casualty of a big dream? You dream big but execute small. The road to achieving your dreams consists of many small parts that come together to form the big picture.
God is a big dreamer! As you read the Bible and zoom out from Genesis to Revelation, you will see the magnitude of his elaborate plan for humanity. But you need to zoom in on the details to see how God executes small. For example, God unveiled the world's salvation through the life of a baby boy born in a little manger in a small town called Bethlehem. These small parts make up the greatest salvation story ever told. God is in the intricate details. Even though it's small, it matters.
Often, the dreams God has given us are so grand that it is hard to wrap our heads around how it can even be possible to accomplish. But it is possible when we start small and execute on all the small parts that make up the big picture. Consequently, we must do our part to plan and prepare for the work ahead. As the Bible teaches us in Proverbs 16:3, "Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established." Start with the little you have and the little you know whilst remaining faithful to keep taking these small steps towards your God-given dreams. You will fulfil the dream you carry in your heart through God's grace and wisdom.
