The 3 Questions We’ll All Have to Answer About Our Financial Decisions

DAY 3 OF 3

Day 3: The Legacy of Wealth: What Has Been Accomplished for Eternity Through My Use of All This Wealth?

The Bible is clear that our earthly possessions are temporary, but their impact can have eternal ramifications.

In 1 Timothy 6:17-19, Paul advises those with an abundance to “do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share.”

This is the foundation for understanding how our wealth can be used to build a legacy that aligns with God’s purposes and lasts beyond our earthly lives.

Consider the story of the widow’s offering in Mark 12:41-44. Her small contribution, given out of poverty, held great value in Jesus' eyes because she gave wholeheartedly.

The impact of our wealth is not measured by its amount but by the heart and intention behind its use. So today, consider how you can use your resources, regardless of their size, to make a meaningful, lasting difference.

Biblical figures like Lydia, a successful businesswoman in Acts 16:14-15, used her wealth to support Paul’s ministry, offering hospitality and resources. Her generosity played a crucial role in the early church. Similarly, modern-day believers are called to use their wealth to support God’s work, whether through charity, supporting missions, or investing in community outreach.

Take a moment to reflect on your own use of wealth.

Have your financial decisions reflected a desire to serve God and invest in His kingdom? What steps can you take to ensure that your wealth leaves a legacy that is both meaningful in this life and significant for eternity?

As we conclude this plan, let's remember that our wealth is a tool entrusted to us by God, not just for earthly comfort but for eternal significance.

May we be inspired to use our resources wisely, generously, and with a view toward eternity, building a legacy that honors God and furthers His kingdom. "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."
