God Is Your Great Reward
This verse refers to the moment when Abram fought a war and returned from defeating King Chedorlaomer. Abram was a shepherd not a warrior. So Abram was afraid. He was also disappointed by God's delaying to fulfill what God had promised. He had yet seen the promised land and he had yet seen the son Go as promised. God knew his disappointments and revealed himself to Abram so as to comfort and empower him. God always takes initiative to comfort and encourage you when you are disappointed by his delaying to answer your prayers. God always wants to greatly reward you. Like God said to Abram, God is his shield and his great reward. What kind of reward do you want from God? God himself or other material rewards?
Prayer: Dear Father Lord, we want more of you. We need you more, more than yesterday and more than before. We want you to be our great reward. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
