DAY 3 OF 17

Blinded by the Light

Saul gets permission to arrest Christians--that is, until he gets stopped in his tracks by Jesus himself. A man of faith named Ananias gets his trust stretched as he is called to pray with Saul--without knowing first about Saul’s conversion! God begins to build his Church not only with his own disciples and friends, but by making allies of those who were his enemies.

Read: Acts 9:1-19(NLT)

Explore the Theme: As Saul is seeking to persecute those who are following Jesus, Jesus himself seeks out Saul. One encounter with Jesus drastically changes Saul’s direction and leaves him blind for three days. What do you think that Saul was feeling or thinking while he was blinded? What do you think Saul was processing during those three days?

Ask God: Even though Saul was blind for three days, God was still working things out behind the scenes by sending Ananias to heal him. Ask God to show you where you are lacking trust in your life. What are some areas that you can trust him to already be working? What would it look like if you trusted God more fully?

Live it Out: We know that God is faithful and he is worthy to be trusted. We also know that he loves us enough to send his son to us. Spend some time reflecting on God’s faithfulness in your life. If you don’t have any specific examples, spend some time thanking God for your circumstances, even though they may be difficult, and ask God to use them for his glory.

About this Plan

Scattered

(Part two of a four part journey through the Books of Acts.) Even in (and especially in?) hard times, God is present and is working to build His Church. We can find encouragement in this. When circumstances force us to pivot, we don’t have to lose heart - God is with us.
