DAY 5 OF 14

HE’S A HOLY SPIRIT [MAKE ME HOLY]

He is a Holy Spirit. Holy means set apart. No one can compare to God! He is separate, other, set apart, HOLY. The primary job of the Holy Spirit is to make you Christ-like, not to make you work in signs and wonders, prophesy, speak in tongues, although He does do that! His primary job is to make you holy. He is set apart, and as you encounter Him, He makes you like Him. He refines you, transforms you, purifies you to live a life that is like Jesus.

1 Peter 1:14-16 says, “As obedient children, do not be conformed to the passions of your former ignorance, but as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, since it is written, 'You shall be holy, for I am holy.'"

The way to find holiness is not in your own strength; it is by getting close to the Holy Sprit! This is why encountering God daily is essential! It is to be close to the Holy Spirit every day, because when you are close to Him, His holiness comes on you. Holiness is when we are so close to the Holy Spirit that we begin to reflect Him. It is by being close to the Holy Spirit that you begin to sound like Him, act like Him, forgive like Him, pray like Him! When you feel the Holy Spirit close, respond to His presence. Moses responded in Exodus 3 by taking his shoes off, others respond by kneeling, or laying prostrate. Respond to the Holy Spirit by acknowledging His presence. Ask Him to teach you to be like Him. Ask Him to come closer!

Pray: Holy Spirit, You are holy, holy, holy! You are set apart! There is no one like You! I draw close to You today, come closer to me. Refine me. Purify me. Holy Spirit, make me holy as You are holy. Teach me to become more like Jesus!
