RENEWING the SPIRIT of FAITHSample
PERPETUATING THE SPIRIT OF FAITH (1)
To reflect God’s glory, we must renew that spirit of faith from generation to generation. In 2 Timothy 1:5, we can see the generational transfer of that same spirit of faith from one generation to another. In Genesis 25:11, the Bible says, “And it came to pass after the death of Abraham, that God blessed his son Isaac; and Isaac dwelt by the well Lahairoi”. We can observe the generational blessing here. When Abraham died, it came to pass that God blessed his son, Isaac. These were men that walked in generational blessings.
In Africa, we must move away from generational curses to generational blessings. I have pastored people who are sound believers, Holy Ghost-filled, called and anointed by God, but whose parents were divorced. When they had to choose a marriage partner, they chose people they were so incompatible with, and they also ended up in divorce because ancestral curses were not dealt with.
The anointing removes the ancestral curse, but the wisdom of God teaches how to keep oneself from the curse. If you come from a family that struggles against poverty, then you have to know that the ancestral spirit of poverty in your lineage will try to visit you. It will take more than just prayer to free you from its clutches; you must also know the truth to stay away from ancestral curses. The Bible says, “And ye shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free” (Joh. 8:32). You can come to the Anointing because the Anointing can set you free. There is a difference between being set free and being made free.
PRAYER: Lord, I declare that I have that same spirit of faith. I move away from generational curses to generational blessings in Jesus’ name. Amen!
