God's 7 Promises for YouSample
All things are possible
I am so glad to be able to share this week together. My prayer is that God builds a miraculous level of faith in both of us this week.
I was recently sitting in an airport, and I heard a small voice from behind me say these compelling words: ”But Daddy, you promised!” I have no idea what the Dad had promised, but I loved that his child was making sure the promise was kept!
As a father, these words melted my heart because they brought back memories of when my children would say something similar. I would have promised something—a later bedtime, ice cream, a long walk to the park, or just some undivided attention—and my kids were quick to remind me of that promise.
What a joy it is to know that we NEVER have to remind God of His promises OR to question whether or not He will keep His promises!
For the next seven days, I would love to share my favorite promises with you. These promises have taught me so many lessons, sustained me in the darkest moments of my life, as well as carried me to the highest mountaintop experiences of my existence. All along the way, I have learned how to claim these promises as my own and use them as a powerful weapon to encourage my faith in God. I love this verse from Peter:
“His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. 4 Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.” (2 Peter 1:3-4, NIV)
What a miracle! We have EVERYTHING that we need for a godly life! The more that we know about Jesus, the more we believe that all things are possible. God’s precious promises hold us to the truth that you and I can live a victorious life that is free from the corruption of the world. What an amazing promise!
As I turned to witness this amazing exchange between a father and child at the airport, I quickly figured out that the promise was a trip to the play area at the end of the concourse. I smiled as the father and daughter walked together, hand in hand to play and to experience a promise fulfilled.
God will keep His promises every single time! He is a good, good Father and He never breaks a promise. Today, let’s focus on this one precious promise that God made, especially for you:
Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.” (Mark 10:27, NIV)
I love this promise! ALL things are possible. Not some things. ALL things! You may be facing an impossible situation today. But, the first prerequisite for a miracle is an impossible situation. You have the promise of God that all things are possible.
Be encouraged by God’s promise today and never forget, you are a miracle!
