21 Days to Life-Changing ConfidenceSample
When I decided to live wholeheartedly for Christ, I assumed that I would suddenly have it all together. Unfortunately, the traces of the “old me” still lingered. Some struggles took weeks to overcome, others took months, and a few took years.
It can feel discouraging when we’re not where we thought we’d be yet. But let’s face it—if we could have changed ourselves without God, then we would have.
Becoming all that God has called us to be is a process. Replacing our old ways to emulate Christ is a lifelong process called sanctification, and it’s not something we can do in our own strength; it’s a work of the Holy Spirit. This renewal is rewarding, but it’s not always rapid.
Although God renews us, we are still active participants in the process. It is a partnership where our reliance level determines our renewal rate. This means that any area that we’re not seeing God’s power move through is an area we have yet to surrender to Him.
The good news is that we can find strength in surrender. When we strive in our own strength, we stall the process. As we rely on God’s strength, His presence supplies us with everything we need to become who we’re called to be.
This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! II CORINTHIANS 5:17
DECLARATION:
I am renewed by God. He has given me a new life in Christ. I am confident that God has changed me and will continue to make me look more like Him.
