God Sees Me!

DAY 3 OF 9

God knows your sins and failures

“O God, you know my folly; the wrongs I have done are not hidden from you” (Psalm 69:5).

The Lord God knows exactly what is in your heart. Moses already expresses this in a song, You have set our iniquities before you, our secret sins in the light of your presence” (Psalm 90:8). He is aware that these sins hinder our relationship with God. And yet he also confesses, “Lord, you have been our dwelling place in all generations” (Psalm 90:1). For the Lord God is willing to forgive our sins and restore our relationship with Him — for the first time and over and over again if we fall into sin.

Years later, David also says that his guilt and folly are known to God. But for him, this is actually a comfort because he is falsely accused of all kinds of wrongdoing. In that context David is saying, ‘Lord, You know exactly what I have done wrong, and you also know that I did not commit the sins I’m accused of now’.

When you try to hide from God, it is distressing that He sees all your faults. But when you live transparently before God, it is actually liberating that He knows you through and through. Feel free to confess your sins and ask forgiveness. He knows you thoroughly anyway. To Him you don't have to keep up appearances.

Do you gladly lay your heart open before the Lord God, including your weaknesses and sins?
