Bloodline: Spiritual DNA of a Kingdom WarriorSample
Day 2:
Royalty
People throughout the world are usually on the edge of their seat, taking notice of the latest news regarding the royal family in England. People throw watch parties of the royal weddings or when a royal wife has a royal baby. Royalty enamors us with stories of elite status and sanctification, where a privileged people are set apart from the rest of the populace. Although we envy and occasionally smite those in positions of power or prominence, we secretly long to be one of the chosen few. If royalty is something you fantasize about, dream no more. If you believe in and receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you are reborn into a spiritual royal family. You are elevated into a status that cannot be taken from you and a throne, never to be overthrown.
Unlike the king’s court at Buckingham palace, we, as believers, are chosen and consecrated on purpose. We aren’t royal by default. God intentionally chose us and called us into His light. In the natural, worldly sense, royal families have no choice who is allowed into the fold and who is part of that inheritance. There is an added element of significance when the creator of the heavens and earth chooses His creation and offers an elite membership into a holy family. It’s not an accident, and it requires a choice made by us to walk in that light and wear that badge of honor with gratitude and reverence.
The bloodline of royalty comes with benefits and privileges but also with tremendous responsibility. We represent a royal spiritual family that stands for something eternal and sacred. It’s more than praying a sinner’s prayer. It’s more than tossing a ten dollar bill in the offering plate. It’s more than a dusty Bible that is rarely opened on your nightstand. God, the Father, has stamped us with his approval and knighted us for a mission that requires resilience and grit. It’s not easy, and sometimes royalty feels like we’re wearing a target on our backs. Look no further than the drama across the pond. The royalty mantel we defend is not necessarily tangible or something you read about on the front page of the New York Times. Rather, our brand of royalty resides in the spiritual realm. It doesn’t guarantee a trial-free life, but instead offers assurances of freedom and redemption despite the struggle.
Ask Yourself:
What has Christ done for me that makes me feel like royalty?
