Year of the Bible: Part Twelve of Twelve

DAY 30 OF 30

Hope in the End

The end of the book of Revelation also brings us to the end of our year studying the Bible. As with all scripture, we must remember God’s heart to restore His family and be with them. Revelation describes the final days and encourages us that the new heaven and earth are coming. God’s original intention will be restored, His dreams will come true, and we will get to participate in the vastness of who He is and experience all of the good He embodies.

This world will end, but that end is not impersonal. That future end is a person: Jesus. Most of us have previously studied Revelation to see what will happen at the end of time. David Pawson states, “The essential message is about who the world is coming to or, rather, who is coming to the world.” Christians are the only ones who are longing for “the end” to come because we know that at the end, we get to be with Him. Jesus is our hope at the end of all things!

Question: If you somehow knew Christ would return during your lifetime, what would you change about how you live? Why not make those changes now?

Prayer: As we close our study, we want to encourage you with our prayer for you. We pray you are encouraged to read your Bible more often and thoroughly and keep the scriptures in context. Remember, the books of the Bible were not written with verse numbers, and the whole story needs to be read for the clearest understanding. Indeed, parts relevant to your daily situation will stand out for your encouragement. Take caution when reading that you are not proving your point more than you are moving toward Jesus. May you grow in knowledge and depth of insight, and may you be found faithful when we stand in front of Jesus.

End note: Thank you for joining us on this year-long journey through the Bible. Our prayer is for you and your family to be deeply blessed by knowing Jesus more and more every day.
