Ssshhh... Can You Hear It? Listening to God's Voice in Your LifeSample
"Please speak to me!"
The other morning, I got a late start and said to Jesus, "I only have ten minutes, but please talk to me!" I had to laugh later when I thought about it. Yes, my day was already planned out, and yes, I was longing for God's guidance and wisdom for the day. But I had things in the wrong order! We can't expect to hit the ground running with God if we don't make time for Him.
It's so important to keep reminding ourselves of this familiar verse from Matthew: "'But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.'" (Matthew 6:33, NKJV)
If we're being completely honest, we always do have time for God! After all, so many of us find time each day to scroll through Facebook or Instagram! Or we have time for the daily news we just can't miss, even though our schedules are packed, or that show we love to watch every evening.
There's really no way around it—if you really want to hear from Jesus, He has to be part of your day. That's the second tip I'd like to share today. Prioritizing time with Jesus is a decision—and an amazing opportunity—that each one of us has! :-)
At the beginning of the pandemic, I got into the habit of leaving the T.V. on during the day. Unfortunately, not only did it drain my energy and steal time, but it also filled my head with negativity! Now the T.V. stays off in general, and I've learned to be prayerful and intentional about when I do watch it. Consequently, the joy immediately came back into my life, I have more time for Jesus, and my ears are open to what He wants to whisper to me in everyday life. Thank You, Jesus!
"Seek His will in all you do, and He will show you which path to take." (Proverbs 3:6, NLT). The more we practice this, the more we'll hear from Him! :-)
I encourage you…choose to give Jesus your time today!
You are a miracle!

About this Plan
I know when someone is listening. They don’t just listen with their ears. They listen with their bodies. Their eyes are focused, and their posture is poised for listening. Friend, is that something you desire - to hear God and know His voice? Is there something you can learn to listen better? If the answer is yes, then spend some time reflecting on what it means to really listen to God’s voice.
