Real Hope: The Birth of Our Saviour King

DAY 5 OF 5

Transition

What a powerful moment! Jesus comes out of the waters of the Jordan River after being baptised by His relative. The sky appears to open and the Spirit of God descended on Him. God Himself then speaks affirmation, love and encouragement over His son. Father, Son and Holy Spirit in the same place at the same time. This series of events described in Matthew is a significant moment of transition in the life of Jesus. His upbringing and training had concluded. He was commencing His public ministry and stepping into all that God had called Him to.

Do you find yourself in a similar season of transition? The old seems to be fading away and a new season beckons. You may not have all the information or details regarding the next chapter, however, you have a sense that you need to step out in faith. If this is you, step out in the confidence that He will be with you every step of the way.

Alternatively, you may find yourself in a season of training and wishing that you could transition to the next step. My encouragement to you would be to stay the course. Your training may not be over yet. If you continue to trust in Him, God in His timing will bring about the transition your heart so desires. ‘Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will direct your paths’ (Proverbs 3:5–6 NIV).

About this Plan

Real Hope: The Birth of Our Saviour King

Our Saviour King came into this world not riding on a horse, surrounded by an army, wearing armor, or crowned with a golden crown. No, our Saviour came into the world as a baby, unexpected, unannounced, and unexceptionally. We hope that through this plan, as you reflect on the meaning of the birth of Jesus Christ, you’ll be reminded that Christmas isn’t just an event in history to be remembered.
