Capturing Glory Again

DAY 5 OF 5

From Glory to Glory

The presence of God is where you will experience the glory of God. As followers of Jesus it is necessary that we access His presence daily with commitment and intentionality. It’s as vital as our daily routines of waking up or brushing our teeth. While it’s true that the Bible doesn’t mention the “quiet time” as a requirement for a Christian, it does mention that Jesus on many occasions got away from everything He was doing just to spend time with His Father. If the Son of God, creator of the world and God in the flesh needed to do that, it feels necessary that we all do it.

These times that we spend in His presence are when we behold His glory and when we are transformed by this glory. Until our salvation, we had a veil that covered our hearts and minds. In turning to Jesus and giving Him the supreme seat of authority in our lives we find that the veil is taken away for good. Now that the veil is gone we can experience the freedom that the Holy Spirit brings and along with this, we begin to reflect the glory of God.

If you have ever driven on a highway or a hillside with no street lamps, but which only has reflectors on the road or on the bends, you will know how reflection works. Unless light is shined on a reflector it remains dark. It's only when it receives light does it reflect it back, and that is what we see when we drive with our headlights on.

We are created and born again to be reflectors of God's glory. This means that as we get into His presence His glory begins to shine on us and transforms us little by little into His likeness. It doesn't stop there. This transformation touches every aspect of our lives. When we step into our neighbourhoods, jobs, schools and colleges we take God's glory with us into those spaces. We shine His light into the dark patches of our world, thereby bringing Jesus into every nook and cranny.

Are you ready to be taken from glory to glory?

Declaration I am a reflector of God’s glory. I carry His glory in me and shine it into my world.
Dan 4

About this Plan

Capturing Glory Again

The glory of God is something we have heard about but something we take for granted by virtue of its familiarity. This Christmas we hope that you will revisit this familiar yet poignant truth about God while allowing it to change some or all of your perspective.
