Positioned for Purpose

DAY 1 OF 5

Positioned for Purpose

Warning: Purpose is a life-long quest. It isn't always easy, and it can be overwhelming. In this five-day plan, we will walk through steps to help get positioned for purpose: communication, dedication, elimination, preparation, and activation.

Step 1: Communication

If you want to understand God's purpose, asking him about it is a great place to start.

This isn't a one-and-done situation, though. Continually communicating with the Father about our purpose throughout our lives allows him to mold and shape us according to his plan. It keeps us on track, opens doors of opportunity, and blesses us with his favor.

Asking God for his vision and clarity along the way ensures we stay on his path. So how do we ask him?

-Spend time in prayer. Seek intimacy with him. Relationship with our Father is like any other relationship--we have to spend time talking and listening. Prayer is a conversation, and he has allowed us access to him whenever we want.

-Spend time in God's word. His words are divinely inspired. Studying his Word helps us know his voice better, and so much wisdom is contained within. Psalm 119:105 reminds us that Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

-Spend time in worship. Praising God and giving him glory is warfare in the spiritual realm. When we praise God along the path of our purpose, we open ourselves and our lives to the miraculous touch of heaven.

Action Step: Today is a great day to start positioning yourself for your purpose. God has the blueprint; our part is getting into communion by communicating with him. Spend time in prayer, read his word or worship. He has your unique adventure waiting for you!

Prayer: Father, I come to you today asking for your help--I want to be positioned for your purpose and your purpose alone! I long to hear from you--show me what my purpose is and what steps I need to take to accomplish my part of building your Kingdom on earth. Thank you that you invite me to do this with you! I love you and ask this in Jesus' name, amen.
