Grab a Towel

Jesus was nearing the end of his life, and he knew that it was ending soon. He also knew that God had given him everything. There was probably a sense of graduation and accomplishment. The Bible says that Jesus realized that all things were given to him and that the end was near. What a powerful statement! He was finishing this race of coming to earth as a man, and he had everything he could ever want. The finality and totality of it are incredible. So, with this knowledge, what does he do? What would you do? This is like your Oscar speech. You’ve accomplished what you set out to do, and the stage is yours. Jesus went in front of the disciples, everybody was watching, and he bent down, grabbed a towel, and began to wash their dirty feet. Wait, what? Jesus chose to serve. That was the purpose of his life. What is the purpose of yours?
